Rivista Casanova was another ecosocial design studies project where we developed a giant public community magazine for the district of Casanova/Kaiserau in Bolzano. The giant magazine could be rolled around in the streets and was made for self-publishing residents. Together with the social cooperative we conducted also several workshops around journalism, self-publishing, design and photography for the locals. The goal of the project was to give space for the residents to tell their own story instead of letting newspapers frame Casanova as the „Ghetto“ of Bolzano. The district is largely made out of social housing where many different people from different backgrounds come together. The magazine should also create a moment to share each others stories, to come together and help each other out with sharing skills and things on the notice board.
